Welcome to the GPS Program, a volunteer program at the University of Coimbra (UC)!
Coordinated by the Student Hub (SH), the program aims to promote integration and a sense of community among international students.
GPS relies on volunteer students from the 2nd to the 5th year of their degree program, preferably from the same course or area as the students they support. The role of volunteers is to accompany new 1st-year peers throughout the academic year, helping them to integrate into the university and enjoy a positive academic and social experience.
During the academic year, volunteers will be invited to a monitoring meeting, organized by SH, which will take place at the end of the 1st semester or at the beginning of the 2nd. This meeting will serve to identify any difficulties, clarify doubts, and assess the fulfillment of the responsibilities assumed.
Volunteers who participate in the training, attend the follow-up meeting organized by SH, and successfully complete the support activities will receive a certificate, through registration in the Diploma Supplement, at the end of the academic year.
Your participation is essential to make UC an even more welcoming place for those arriving from outside!
