'UC Sports Week' brings sport to all campuses of the University of Coimbra

The University of Coimbra (UC) is organising the second edition of UC Sports Week from 31 March to 4 April. Over five days, the different UC campuses will host classes and other sports activities, as well as conferences, workshops and round tables.

The second edition of UC Sports Week (31 March - 4 April) aims to promote the practice of sport and a more active lifestyle among the entire University community while also showing how sport relates to different areas of knowledge. The first activity of the week will take place on the 31st at 9.30 am in Auditorium II of the Student Hub: Workshop "Promoting Active Mobility in the University: Reducing Car Use".

The official opening of UC Sports Week will take place next Monday, 31 March, at 11:00, at Pátio das Escolas, with a speech by the Rector of the University of Coimbra, Amílcar Falcão. The Mega Aula Pausa + Ativa, a weekly physical activity programme aimed at bringing the entire UC community together for stretching and posture exercises, will take place at 11:15. On the same day, at 11:30, the European Cycling Campus & City (3Cs) project will start its cycle tour, with 10 members of the UC community cycling to Madrid (Spain), then to Montpellier (France) and finally to Turin (Italy), linking the four institutions involved in the project.
