Applications are now open for volunteers interested in teaching civic and political literacy in schools. “Literacy in Action” is an initiative promoted by the University of Coimbra in partnership with the Legal Institute, which seeks to strengthen the skills of young people from 7th to 12th grade by providing them with continuous and personalized support.

The program aims to train students from TEIP (Educational Territories of Priority Intervention) schools and young people in residential care. In addition, it aims to reduce inequalities in access to quality education, strengthen students' self-confidence and autonomy and contribute to reducing failure and dropout rates.

The volunteers selected will play a fundamental role in the training of young people, helping them to understand political, civic and legal concepts in an accessible and engaging way, using playful-pedagogical methodologies. Applications can be made until March 23 via the link: https://ls.uc.pt/index.php/437318?lang=pt.
