Cantanhede Innovation Days recognises innovative solutions for the healthcare sector
The final session takes place on Wednesday, 29 October, with team presentations and the announcement of the winning idea.
The latest edition of Cantanhede Innovation Days (i-Days), organised by the University of Coimbra (UC) under the European EIT Health programme, is currently underway. The initiative challenges higher education students to develop innovative solutions to real-life health problems.
Teams have been tackling challenges proposed by healthcare organisations since the 22nd of October, supported by researchers, lecturers, and health professionals, while attending training sessions in innovation, entrepreneurship, pitching, and design thinking.
The final presentations take place on Wednesday, 29 October, from 14:00, with the winning idea to be announced at 16:50. The closing session at 17:15 will feature a speech by UC’s Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship, Gabriela Fernandes.
The winning team will receive €1,200 in prizes, including scholarships of €500 from Basinnov Life Sciences/FHC Group and €200 from Critical Software. They will also represent UC in Paris in November, at the final event showcasing the best proposals from the 16 European countries participating in the i-Days initiative.
Cantanhede i-Days is organised by UC’s R&D International Networks Unit, in collaboration with the UC Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, Biocant – Technology Transfer Association, and the Coimbra Local Health Unit – Hospital Arcebispo João Crisóstomo and Hospital Rovisco Pais.
