‘Coimbra Invest Summit 2025’: Growing stronger every year
The event once again put Coimbra firmly on investors’ radar, boosting the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Coimbra Invest Summit (Coimbra IS), one of the country’s largest events dedicated to businesses and investors, is holding its third edition on 2 and 3 July at Convento São Francisco, bringsing together business leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and national and international experts to discuss investment opportunities and challenges in Coimbra and across Portugal.
More than doubling the number of participating companies, institutions, and start-ups compared to the second edition, over 1,000 participants are attending the event organised by Coimbra City Council in partnership with the University of Coimbra (UC), the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (IPC), Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN), and iParque.
“These figures show that the event keeps growing every year, which makes all partners proud,” says the Rector of the University of Coimbra (UC), Amílcar Falcão. The University of Coimbra has been a partner of the Coimbra Invest Summit “from the very beginning” and has proven to be “a driving force in promoting the city,” the Rector adds, highlighting the university’s recent achievements in research and entrepreneurship.
“We need more activity in Coimbra,” argues the UC Rector. “The city faces geographical challenges that make attracting investment more difficult,” he admits, while expressing confidence that “through hard work, Coimbra’s appeal can be increased. We all need to work together to move Coimbra forward,” Falcão concludes.
Focused on the Technology, Health, Space, and Tourism clusters, this year’s edition features an expanded showcase and a programme that includes panels on internationalisation and innovation, and the participation of international delegations.
‘Coimbra IS’ is once again putting Coimbra firmly on investors’ radar and boosting the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
