The Administrator of the University of Coimbra, Luís Bento Rodrigues, has been unanimously re-elected to represent Portugal in the Heads of University Management & Administration Network in Europe (HUMANE).

Following his first term of office, from 2023 to 2025, Luís Bento Rodrigues was re-elected by his peers - the administrators of other Portuguese higher education institutions that are members of HUMANE - to represent the country in the international association's governing bodies for a three-year term.

“We are living in challenging times. Now more than ever, Europe needs greater cooperation between its universities. HUMANE contributes to this by strengthening and updating support for the mission of higher education. The Old Continent’s universities are beacons of civilisation, and university administrations must rise to the challenge of supporting students, academics, staff, and partners in promoting leadership grounded in knowledge and truth,” says Luís Bento Rodrigues.

Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, the Heads of University Management & Administration Network in Europe brings together more than 170 members from 24 countries, including prestigious European higher education institutions such as the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge (UK).
