RUC courses open for enrolment until 20 October
This academic year, 'Rádio Universidade de Coimbra' is offering courses in Voice-Over and Production and Information and Broadcasting Techniques.
Radio University of Coimbra (RUC) is once again inviting the community to join its radio experience on 107.9 FM. Under the motto “Don’t let them put you on repeat”, the 2025/2026 RUC Courses offer training in Broadcasting and Production, News Reporting, and Radio Broadcasting Techniques.
The Broadcasting and Production course is aimed mainly at music enthusiasts, training new voices for RUC through experimentation and creative freedom. It includes practical work in announcing, programme structuring, scriptwriting, journalism techniques and cultural programming, along with studio practice. The News Reporting course is designed for those interested in radio journalism. Combining theory and practice, it covers voice training, writing for radio, and interview techniques. It prepares future RUC reporters to work in the newsroom, produce daily content, and conduct interviews and news programmes—an essential part of RUC’s daily broadcast schedule.
As for Radio Broadcasting Techniques, the course targets those fascinated by sound and transmission, whether on FM or online. RUC technicians ensure broadcast quality 24/7, whether from a studio, a stadium or a music festival.
Enrolment is open until 20 October at the RUC Secretariat (3rd floor of the Coimbra Academic Association building), weekdays from 10 am to 5 pm, or via the online form here. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and, above all, “willing to learn and contribute to the running of the airwaves,” the station highlights.
With 39 years on air, RUC remains Portugal’s oldest student radio station, known nationwide for its creative approach and multidisciplinary environment, bringing together students and alumni from across all faculties and departments of the University of Coimbra.
