The Office for Sustainable Development of the University of Coimbra (GDS.UC) participated in the RYSE UP! fair, an event dedicated to sustainability, entrepreneurship and social impact.

In an interactive and relaxed format, GDS.UC, which shared a booth with the Coimbra Students Union (AAC), challenged participants to think about climate change and sustainable development through an innovative card game. Designed specifically for the event, the game engaged young people in a playful and educational environment, with cards posing questions related to the work of GDS.UC, such as data from the sustainability report and the University of Coimbra's partner networks. To make the dynamic even more engaging, participants could use "pass" cards to avoid answering certain questions, but in return, they had to take on an extra challenge: posting a story on Instagram with a photo from the event, tagging the University of Coimbra, GDS.UC and AAC, along with a commitment related to sustainable development.

Through this informal and participatory approach, GDS.UC not only raised young people's awareness of sustainability challenges but also showcased its work in a dynamic and accessible way. Participation in RYSE UP! reinforces the University of Coimbra's commitment to promoting sustainability and empowering the academic and local community for a more responsible and conscious future.

The event took place on 15 March at Praça dos Heróis do Ultramar in Coimbra.
