Tennis is making a strong comeback in the UC Sports calendar as part of the ‘UC+Activa’ project, offering a variety of classes and schedules designed to suit participants’ availability. According to coach Pedro Amado, this represents “an opportunity, because tennis offers a wide range of options – we have ten classes available, with timetables that match students’ schedules as best as possible.”

The coach emphasises that the goal is to ensure everyone finds their own learning space: “We try to organise classes in the best possible way to match each student’s learning stage, making the experience more motivating. It’s truly a great opportunity to give tennis a try.”

Pedro Amado highlights the sport’s versatility and challenge: “Tennis can be played in singles, one-on-one, or in doubles. It’s a point-based game, which means it doesn’t have a fixed duration – that’s part of the challenge.

However, we also work on shorter formats to keep the game fun and accessible for everyone, including beginners trying it for the first time.”

Beyond the fun aspect, Pedro Amado stresses the many benefits of tennis: “Tennis is, above all, a highly complete sport. It develops not only technical skills and static aspects, but also physical abilities and mental focus.”

Adaptable to all ages, tennis offers a gradual and accessible learning experience. As Amado points out, “from the youngest players to those who are a little older – don’t be afraid to try tennis. We can adapt the learning process to any age group.”

Promoting physical activity, social interaction and well-being, UC Sports tennis stands out as an inclusive, dynamic option for everyone.
