UC establishes partnership with Ireland-Portugal Business Network

The collaboration aims to explore opportunities for research and development projects, bringing together universities, technology centres and companies from Portugal and Ireland.

The University of Coimbra (UC) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Ireland-Portugal Business Network (IPBN), a bilateral initiative promoting business and innovation. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Nuno Mendonça, UC Vice-Rector for Innovation and Business Relations, and Arnold Delville, General Manager of IPBN in Portugal.

The agreement aims to explore research and development projects involving universities, technology centres and companies from Portugal and Ireland, with a view to promoting knowledge transfer and impactful innovation in Ireland and other international markets.

The signing ceremony, held at PURUS Casa de São Bento, highlighted potential areas of collaboration, including the digital sector, healthcare, tourism and the blue economy.

.Funded by Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ireland-Portugal Business Network (IPBN) brings together over 200 companies and institutions from both countries, including Trinity College Dublin, and organises conferences, masterclasses and sector-focused networking events.
