Net Revenue
As is logical, the marketing of innovative products and services is intended to generate economic benefits (profits), which will be shared according to a previously established agreement and taking into account the type of contract relating to Intellectual Property assets, between the company(ies) and the UC. Obtaining this economic return is also important to offset any eventual financial effort needed at the beginning of this process.
Shared with Inventors
Of the income obtained by the UC, for example in the form of royalties arising from a patent licensing agreement, a part will fall to the Inventors responsible for the innovation that originated the patent, as a form of recognition for the excellence of their research work and as an incentive to the development of new investigations. The UC has an Intellectual Property Regulation that regulates the distribution of income within the UC itself.
Reinvestment in Education and Research
Part of this income is used to finance new research within the UC, ending up reinvesting in research, which certainly means reinvesting in the training of new researchers, giving opportunities to masters/doctoral students who wish to evolve.
