Practical informations

By car

The main motorways passing through Coimbra are: highway A1 and IP3. Coimbra is located 200Km north of Lisbon and 120Km south of Oporto.

By train

There are fast trains (Alfa and Intercidades) departing regularly from Lisbon (Oriente station) and Oporto (Campanhã station) to Coimbra (Coimbra-B station). The Alfa train takes approximately 1h40 form Lisbon and 1h00 from Oporto. For timetables check CP (the national train company).

From Coimbra-B station you can take an Uber or a taxi.

By bus

Check the website of the Express Buses Network to see the timetable and prices. Other companies (like Flixbus) also have almost hourly buses from Oporto and Lisbon.

By plane

Coimbra is about 120 km from Oporto airport and 200 Km from Lisbon airport. From both airports you can take the subway to the train stations mentioned above.

The conference dinner will be on Wednesday 22/07.

The price will be around €50 per person, and we kindly ask that you make the payment in cash upon arrival, at registration.

Accompanying persons are welcome. Should this be the case, please indicate it as an observation on the registration form.

If you wish to attend the conference dinner, the registration deadline is July 5, 2026.

We will have a guided tour of the University of Coimbra, conducted in English, on the afternoon of Wednesday 22/07, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

The cost of the tour is €9 per person, and we kindly ask that you make the payment in cash upon arrival, at registration.

Accompanying persons are welcome. Should this be the case, please indicate it as an observation on the registration form.

If you would like to take part in the guided tour, the registration deadline is July 5, 2026.
