Professor Luis Cruz (CeBER/ FEUC), under the framework of a Fullbright Scholarship at the University of Virginia (UVA), USA, co-organized the Regional Economics and Input-Output Modeling Workshop, together with the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service (@UVA).

This workshop was an insightful event with participants—many of them PhD students —who shared their research and helped create a thoughtful and collaborative atmosphere. Special mention to the participation of Michael Lahr (Rutgers University) and Geoffrey Hewings (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and University of Oviedo), contributing with their insights and decades of experience to the discussions.

Professor Luis Cruz says that this event was characterized by “great energy, great conversations, and a strong sense of community across generations of regional economists”, and that his research stay at UVA was “an amazing experience, full of learning, cultural exchange and great connections”!
