Cursos de Preparação para os Exames de Inglês

Candidatas/os com idade igual ou superior a 16 anos.

Frequência com aproveitamento do Curso de Inglês do Quotidiano, nível Pós-Intermédio II, nos últimos dois anos ou realização prévia de teste de aferição de conhecimentos de Inglês (obrigatório) ou apresentação de certificado de conhecimentos de Inglês de nível B2 para análise e posterior dispensa da realização do teste de aferição de conhecimentos de Inglês.

Course content is focused on everyday topics familiar to students and which allow the development of key skills in order to achieve level C1 of the CEFR (European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Core vocabulary themes such as the environment; science; health; technology; among others, which are used to teach the correct use of grammar structures through the study of verbal tenses; the degrees of adjectives; reported speech; passive/active voice.

The study of linguistic structures aim to allow the student to communicate effectively, being able to express opinions and provide supporting arguments, giving examples. They should be able to write clearly and in detail, explaining advantages and disadvantages of different points of view. Students will study the structure and learn how to write: reports; personal letters; criticisms; stories, formal and informal emails; among others.

The teaching makes use of active communicative methods, often involving pair and groupwork activities. The course will be taught in English by an experienced native-speaker teacher.

Students are evaluated through continuous assessment.

They will also have to do one written test per semester and other tasks considered appropriate by the teacher. At the end of the course they have to do a final exam in order to obtain the Cambridge C1 Certificate. At the end of the course, it is the students’ responsibility to enrol in the Cambridge C1 exam in order to obtain the certificate.
