By air

Portugal has two main airports: Lisbon Airport and Oporto Airport. Lisbon Airport is 200 km away from Coimbra while Oporto Airport is 130 km away.

Transfer from Lisbon Airport to Coimbra

By car

If renting a car at the airport, you can drive to Coimbra by taking the highway A1 direction North (200Km – 2 hours). You must leave the highway at the exit “Coimbra Sul”. Leaving the highway, you will cross the river until you find the sign “Hospitais”. Follow this sign and you will reach

iCBR right by the Coimbra University Hospital (HUC).

By train

Take a taxi to the train station “ORIENTE” and there you may take Long Distance trains (expected price 258). In order to know the timetables, you may consult the website: www.cp.pt, and then you must choose “Timetables” – “Alfa Pendular and Intercidades” - “Lisboa/Porto-Braga-Guimarães”. You will see then the timetable of departure at “LISBOA-ORIENTE” and the timetable of arrival at “COIMBRA-B”. At COIMBRA-B train station, you may take a taxi to IBILI

(expected price 58).

Transfer from Oporto Airport to Coimbra

By car

If renting a car at Oporto airport, you can drive to Coimbra by taking the highway A1 direction South, Lisbon (120Km – 1 hour). You must leave the highway at the exit “Coimbra Norte”. At IC2, you must leave at the exit on your right “Coimbra” and at the roundabout, you must always follow the sign “Hospitais”. You will then reach iCBR right by the Coimbra University Hospital (HUC).

By train

Take a taxi to the train station “CAMPANHÔ and there you may take Long Distance trains (expected price 168). In order to know the timetables, you may consult the website: www.cp.pt, and then you must choose “Timetables” – “Alfa Pendular and Intercidades” - “Lisboa/Porto- Braga-Guimarães”. You will see then the timetable of departure at “PORTO CAMPANHA” and the timetable of arrival at “COIMBRA-B”. At COIMBRA-B train station, you may take a taxi to iCBR-Faculty of Medicine (expected price 58).
