GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The 15-item Portuguese version of the BASES assesses individuals’ shame (4 items), guilt (3 items), authentic (4 items) and hubristic (4 items) pride related to their body and appearance. The BASES demonstrates measurement invariance across gender and showed adequate internal consistency, composite reliability, convergent validity and expected associations with perfectionism and affect.
