GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The SCI is a brief eight-item scale intended to assess insomnia disorder according to the DSM-5 criteria. The SCI comprises Likert-type response categories scored 0–4. Higher scores denote better sleep. Total score ranges from 0–32. In the original study, a score of ≤16 was suggested to identify individuals likely to suffer from insomnia (Espie et al., 2014).
