UP-C Stepped-Care

Unified Protocol for Children Stepped-Care

The Unified Protocol for Children Stepped-Care is a stepped-care intervention program (two-step) for parents and children aged 7 to 13 years with clinically significant symptomatology/primary diagnosis of anxiety and/or mood disorder.

The intervention protocol is based on the Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Children's Emotional Disorders (UP-C), a transdiagnostic approach that integrates components of cognitive-behavioral intervention and mindfulness techniques and aims to help children reduce the intensity and frequency of strong and aversive emotional experiences, as well as help parents reduce the frequency of behaviors that reinforce children's difficulties (e.g., criticism, overprotection) and develop new, more functional behaviors.
