Decoding the properties and successfully recognizing and interacting with a target object is supported by a set of segregated structures in the visual system. The most prominent are the dorsal visual stream and the ventral visual stream. Here, I will explore how these streams interact and process particular categories of objects – hands and tools.

The proposed project encompasses two workpackages that will focus on different aspects of visual objet processing. I plan to use both psychophysical experiments on the categorization of hands and tools, as well as use neuromodulation (tDCS/TMS) and fMRI paradigms.
