From 17 to 21st March the Social Work of Fac. de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra will host the next international universities of Social Work : Ohio University, Universidad de Salamanca e @UKSW, Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski Universityin Warsaw .
Together during the next week we will discuss worldwide issues related to globalization, increased socio-economic inequalities, migratory movements, climate change impacts, new conflict configurations, democracy crisis (e.g., populism, extreme right-wing movements), among others, request social workers to adopt new ways to intervene regarding these new challenges.
As social work and social policy have been impacted by these geopolitical, social and economic changes, new social work practitioners and educators’ regards are called, considering also, the knowledge coming from the global south.
The Blended Intensive Programme will be aligned with Sustainability Development Agenda 2030 and with the Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development (2020-2030), aiming to contribute to a new global social reality, ensuring an adequate environment for social work practice and education.
It will also include the commemoration of the international day of Social Work of Coimbra Fac. de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra
