Group Leader
Research: The research in the Systems Cell Biology group focuses on understanding how cellular changes drive systemic modifications during aging and how age-related systemic alterations, in turn, affect cellular physiology. Specifically, we study vascular cells to investigate why cardiovascular diseases become more prevalent with age and exhibit gender differences. Using both mouse and human models, we apply multimodal approaches, including advanced genetics, multiomics, and cutting-edge imaging techniques, to unravel the mechanisms of aging. Our aim is to develop novel therapeutic strategies or enhance existing treatments to improve quality of life and promote the overall well-being of the aging population.
