Anabela Mota Pinto awarded her MD PhD in Pathology in 1995 at the University of Coimbra. She is Professor of Pathophysiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra, and coordinator of the scientific area of General Pathology. Research in this area has been particulary effective in the understanding of the aging and inflammation response on several disorders. Her contributions to science are described in over 150 publications (articles and books). Anabela Mota Pinto has served on several committees at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra. She is currently colaborating on the PhD program on Health Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine. As Professor of Pathophysiology and a medical education researcher, she has implemented several learning strategies and short duration formation courses to teachers at the Faculty of Medicine.
