PERSIST project collaboration with the OpenLab project
As part of the PERSIST project and in close collaboration with the OpenLab project, two collaborative murals with an energy-related theme have been painted in the Rochapea neighborhood of Pamplona. These murals were created within the framework of a unified artistic and collaborative initiative aimed at fostering community engagement and promoting new transformative projects related to the energy transition.
The collaborative murals are proposed as a key strategy to encourage the development of an active and proactive local community, as well as a mechanism to raise awareness among citizens from within the very urban spaces they inhabit. The entire process—from the initial ideas to the painting and the definition of the final design—has been carried out through co-creation involving a wide range of stakeholders.
In Rochapea, this process has led to the emergence of a growing community that continues to initiate and propose new actions and projects, contributing to the transformation of the neighborhood into a Positive Energy District (PED). Moreover, this approach helps to gain deeper insight into the community’s energy culture maturity, its knowledge of the neighborhood, and its level of awareness regarding the need for change. At the same time, it seeks to explore realistic solutions through artistic expression to support the neighborhood’s transition toward becoming a PED.
