Kinder-GUT
Role of diet-derived retinoids in CD8αα intraepithelial lymphocytes and intestinal defence at early-life
Referência | Código da Operação: HR22-00754
Duração
01/12/2022 - 30/11/2025
Apresentação
Acrónimo: Kinder-GUT
Objetivo temático: Elucidating how the intestinal immune system acts at mucosal barrier, will bring essential knowledge to understand mucosal surveillance in intestinal homeostasis and in response to pathogen infection.
Área Científica: Infectious disease
Síntese do Projeto: The propose of the project is that diet-derived retinoids regulate CD8αα IEL and underlie their intestinal function. By combining tissuespecific loss of function and reporter mouse models, RNA sequencing, retroviral transduction and 3D organoid assays , we will elucidate the molecular and cellular pathways underlying RA signaling in CD8αα IELs, their immune function and explore these new axes in CD8αα IELs. These will establish a molecular axis between dietary cues and CD8αα IEL and will generate breakthrough findings in the next 3 years paving the way for new therapeutic targets in gastrointestinal infections.
