The University of Coimbra receives exchange from over 100 countries with those from the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) and from Europe being the most numerous. With more than 700 Erasmus agreements and around 200 bilateral agreements with HEI's around the World, the UC spreads its influence and lets itself be influenced by the best practices. Classified with 5 stars in internationalisation by the QS Stars University Ratings and with more than 20% of international students, the UC functions as a unique interface between the Portuguese language and the rest of the World.

The University of Coimbra offers several opportunities for study, training and research such as: Foundation Year Programmes, undergraduate studies, post-graduate studies, post-doc, projects, research, etc.
The University of Coimbra (UC) created a special channel for students, academics and professionals with refugee status under the Geneva Convention and applicable Portuguese Law. The special channel provides: Portuguese Language Courses, recognition of prior higher education qualifications, access to graduate and post-graduate programmes, etc.
The UC is also very engaged to assist the students in humanitarian emergency from Ukraine and mobilised all efforts to welcome and integrate students from Ukraine in our University, following the Portuguese Government guidelines.
The University of Coimbra is responsible for and proud of training several generations of students who become the university ambassadors all over the country and around the world, from the moment they graduate and follow their path. The UC Alumni Network is an initiative of the Rectory of the University of Coimbra. It aims to strengthen the ties between the University and all its Alumni by promoting regular communication and exchange of experience.
Animated by a spirit of sharing and interdisciplinary interaction, this network fosters the links between the University of Coimbra, its Alumni and the diverse external stakeholders on the academic, professional and social levels.
