The internationalisation strategy of the University of Coimbra also focus on the internationalisation of its study cycles. Several types of internationalisation of study programmes are developed including brand new joint degrees with foreign Higher Education Institutions (HEI), double degrees with foreign HEI using existing study programmes, study programmes delivered at foreign HEI and the support of foreign HEI in the development of their study programme.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters
In this context, the Erasmus+ Action Erasmus Mundus, is a priority in the internationalisation of study cycles, and the UC participates in various Erasmus Mundus Master Degrees and Erasmus Mundus Design Measures, in a diverse multidisciplinary range of programmes.
The cooperation is promoted through a set of tools as international cooperation agreements, the participation in programmes, projects and institutional networks or other associations that we consider relevant for the internationalization of the University of Coimbra. As an example: Coimbra Group, EUA, FORGES (Portuguese-speaking Higher Education Forum), Utrecht Network, Tokyo Foundation, Fulbright, Silk Road Network and AULP (Association of Portuguese Language Universities) which currently has the presidency of the University of Coimbra.
