CEMMPRE at “Pontos nos iii – Science Beer Talks”

On 19 March, another edition of the “Pontos nos iii - Science Beer Talks” series took place at the UC Exploratório, with the presence of CEMMPRE researcher Vanessa Magalhães, who was invited to talk about “Combating Food Waste: Challenges in the Fresh Produce Supply Chain”.

This researcher addressed the issue of food loss and waste observed throughout fresh produce supply chains, discussing the main factors that contribute to this issue and the strategies to be adopted to minimize these losses.

This is a hot topic today, being integrated into the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with the aim of reducing global food waste in production and at the consumer level.
