Defence of two PhD theses under the GreenTRIBOS

In the first week of September 2024, two theses were defended as part of the join doctoral programme GreenTRIBOS -Green Tribology for Sustainable Engineering

GreenTRIBOS is a joint doctorate programme on Green Tribology for Sustainable Engineering, that brings together four international universities: University of Ljubljana – Slovenia (ULj), University of Coimbra – Portugal (UC), University of Leeds – United King (ULe), and Luleå University of Technology – Sweden (LTU).

On September 3rd, the student Maksim Nikonovich defended his thesis entitled “Tribological and Mechanical Performance of Thermoplastic Composites: Effect of Cryogenic Aging and Testing-Environment”, supervised by Nazanin Emami (LTU) and Amilcar Ramalho (UC).

The following day, student Sharjeel Ahmed Khan defended his PhD thesis entitled "Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Drilling of CFRP-Ti Stacks by DLC Coated Drills – A Tribomechanics Approach", supervised by Nazanin Emami (LTU) and Amilcar Ramalho (UC).
