30th Anniversary CEMUC/CEMMPRE
In 1994, the Centre of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Coimbra (CEMUC) was created and hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
In 2008 the CEMUC, the ICEMS (Institute of Materials and Surfaces Sciences and Engineering), and the Group of Metallic Materials from the Materials Institute of the University of Porto joined and formed the new CEMUC®.
Twenty-three years after its creation the CEMUC® changed its name to CEMMPRE (Centre for Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Process).
On the 6th December 2024, the 30th anniversary of the creation of CEMUC was celebrated. The event was attended by CEMUC's founding members and the current CEMMPRE executive board as well as the members of its research team. Many of the original CEMUC team members are still with CEMMPRE.
We wish to CEMMPRE other 30 years of fruitful research and partnerships within its multidisciplinary research areas.
