Vassil Karaivanov is a Professor at the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University, Bulgaria, since 2001, where he teaches Project finance, Investments and Money&Banking. He also has 18 years of experience in financial markets and in particular Capital markets (securities broker, portfolio manager, Managing director of investment bank), M&A (Head of teams for due diligence, valuations, transactions) and Project finance (structuring, business plan, valuations, concessions). He was head of teams and team member in numerous transactions in the energy sector: South Stream (gas pipeline), privatization of thermal power plants in Bulgaria, post-acquisition restructuring of electricity-distribution companies, financing of solar parks, concession of district heating companies.

At present Vassil is President of Bulgarian Macroeconomics Association (www.bma-bg.org) and Chairman of the Management Board of Sofia Tech Park (www.sofiatech.bg) - the first and the largest scientific park in Bulgaria. He is licensed broker of securities and portfolio manager/investment adviser.
