I received my Pre-Bologna degree on Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering in 2004 and since then I’m a researcher and project manager at the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR) of the University of Coimbra. In 2005 attended the Post-Graduation in Energy and in 2008 concluded the Master degree.

In 2007, after winning the "Concurso Ideias Luminosas – Eficiência Energética" award, sponsored by the Portuguese Electrical Utility (EDP), founded an SME energy consultancy company in the area of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies, which has given me one important company-oriented perspective.

In 2018 I left the privately owned SMEs to embrace a new challenge, as the head of research and innovation cell at CWJ, SA, a company that develops and manufactures products and services based on communications and power electronics, maintaining the research position at the ISR, serving as a connection point and transfer knowledge between institutions.

I’m currently in the first year of the doctoral program in Sustainable Energy Systems (SES/EfS), to further increase my scientific knowledge in an academic, personal and professional valorization perspective. The knowledge that will be acquired during the prestigious Energy for Sustainability Initiative (EfS-UC) Program and the connection to a private company with reputed developing and manufacturing capabilities, will give me the opportunity to turn academic concepts into applied sustainability actions, skills to develop, create and implement sustainable ideas such as the efficient use of resources in a Smart City environment.
