Authentication of Academic Documents
Service of UC Document Authenticity Verification
This service is provided by means of the Information Technology Platform of the UC that enables the authentication of certificates issued by the University, such as the Diploma (Completion Certificate), Enrolment Certificate or Student’s Academic Record, on request of its Students and Alumni.
The UC makes available certificates in two formats:
- Electronic/Digital format – a document in a PDF file format, authenticated by means of an alphanumeric access key which appears at the bottom of the document. This document can be downloaded whenever the student wants at InforEstudante.
- Paper – document in paper authenticated by means of watermark, embossing stamp and signature. From July 2015 onwards it includes the alphanumeric key which enables the same type of authentication and procedure mentioned for the electronic documents.
The electronic issuance substitutes the delivery of paper copies by an access code to the certificate in Portugal or abroad. |
This document has the same validity as a printed document, but it adds the security of being able to be revoked in case of loss or theft. |
It is requested at InforEstudante and its authenticity is verified at this service. Therefore, it is a document whose content is not valid when it is printed. |
After the initial issuance of the certificate, the Student may continue to download it by means of InforEstudante. |
Note: This initiative was included in the measure “M023 - Permanent Certificate of Higher Education Qualifications” of the Simplex 2010 Programme which enables the issuance of dematerialised certificates.
