  2. The application deadlines for 2023/2024 are published in a specific calendar to be disseminated by means of the official website of applications of the UC, at https://ucpages.uc.pt/en/applications
  3. If the student is covered by an exceptional situation or condition that impedes compliance with the deadlines or with a defined rule, he/she can submit a request for appraisal of an exceptional condition, which is subject to the payment of €50 and to appraisal and decision (accepted or rejected). This request must be substantiated and must include the supporting documents that attest the status or exceptional condition mentioned, if applicable. Without the substantiation or the supporting documents required for its appraisal, the request will be rejected.

NOTES [from no.1 to no. 20]

[1] As long as there are pending assessments, the student has 7 consecutive days after the release of the last grade to register for the academic year, without paying any fee (no. 12 of Article no. 10 of the Academic Regulation of the UC - RAUC). Until that communication, the student may register temporarily for the classes and attend the curricular units.

[2] Beyond this deadline, if there are no pending assessments, the registration depends on a request for an appraisal of an exceptional condition because of failure to meet the established deadline, which is subject to the payment of €50 and an appraisal and decision by the Direction of the Organisational Unit.

[3] The registration deadlines and the deadlines for changes in that registration are applied to all the UC courses, including the non-degree courses, as long as there are no specific regulation of the course or cycle of studies that establishes other deadlines.

[4] If the registration for the academic year takes place beyond this deadline, the Student may request its change within the 15 consecutive days, without paying any fee (no. 6 of Article no. 16 of the RAUC).

[5] If there are pending assessments concerning the curricular units with editions in the 1st and 2nd semesters, the student has 7 consecutive days after the release of the last grade to change his/her registration  without paying any fee. The request must be submitted to the Academic Management Services SGA) by means of the E-mail online form.

[6] Regarding the courses "Portuguese as a Foreign Language" delivered by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FLUC) (Introductory Programme in Portuguese/FOUNDATION YEAR; Annual Course of Portuguese Language and Culture for Foreigners; Portuguese Erasmus), the application may be carried out up to 15 days after the beginning of the classes, in each semester, without payment of a fee. The request must be submitted to the Academic Management Services SGA) by means of the E-mail online form.

[7] The deadline established in the RAUC is 30th September. However, aligning this deadline with the deadline established for the other status was considered to be fairer and more appropriate. Therefore, its rectification concerning the current academic year is made by means of the aforementioned Rector's Order. If the situation takes place beyond the deadline, the Student may submit the request within 30 consecutive days (no. 10 of Article no. 192 of the RAUC).

[8] If the registration for the academic year takes place after this date, the Student may still request the benefit of reduction or exemption (no. 1 of Article no. 214 of the RAUC), and present the supporting document of the scholarship application or its renewal (no. 2 of Article no. 215 of the RAUC), within the 15 consecutive days following that registration.

[9] The Student, after the formal communication of the decision, has up to 30 days to present the declaration of the funding institution. Whenever the scholarship is rejected/denied the Student may pay the already due tuition fee instalments (without any interests), or may change his/her registration or submit a withdrawal of studies with the inherent adjustment of the tuition fee's payment plan (no. 4 of Article no. 215 of the RAUC). There is no possibility of withdrawing without paying tuition fees when the scholarship is accepted/granted.

[10] The Scholarship Holders whose declarations were issued by FCT after 31st May are excluded from this deadline. Therefore, the submission deadline for these students is the same as other situations, that is, 30 days after the issuance of the declaration. If the Student does not deliver the supporting document/declaration of the scholarship's renewal until this date, the special situation of FCT scholarship holder will be annulled, and the student will become in a default situation (no. 7 of Article no. 215 of the RAUC).

[11] After this deadline the penalties provided for in the regulation will be applied concerning the fee’s payment default.

[12] Concerning the International Students enrolled and registered for a 1st Cycle of Studies or an Integrated Master's Degree Course, and attending it in the current academic year, the 1st instalment is 30 per cent of the tuition fee's amount, to be paid at the moment of the registration, and the other 9 instalments will be due on the last day of each month from October to June (no. 6 of Article no. 201 of the RAUC).

[13] The withdrawal is only valid if it is carried out by means of the request at InforEstudante (Article no. 18 of the RAUC).

[14] If there are pending grades until this date, which prevent the students from regarding their expiration situation, this request can be carried out within the 7 consecutive days after the release of the last grade (no. 7 of Article no. 224 of the RAUC).

[15] If the registration for the 2023/2024 academic year is carried out beyond the deadline for registration in the extraordinary examination period of the first semester, the students may submit a request within the 15 consecutive days after that registration. To that purpose, the students should be present to sit the exam, if it is already scheduled, or inform the services of their Organisational Unit about their situation.

[16] If until the end of the established deadline for the registration in the extraordinary examination period of the 2nd semester there are assessments waiting to be accepted, the Students must, nevertheless, submit the request for sitting the exam.

[17] The final work of a Master's Degree Course includes a Dissertation, a Project, an Internship's report, or other similar curricular units that lead to a Master's Degree.

[18] The deadline for registration in the Special Examination Period is the same as the deadline established by the Organisational Unit to deliver/submit the Master's Degree Dissertation, or another similar work, at InforEstudante. Therefore, in order to be able to submit the work in the Special Examination Period, the students must have registered previously for the Special Examination Period.

[19] The submission of the Thesis after this date can only be made by means of a registration for the 2024/2025 academic year, and the payment of the instalments is made until the month of the submission, which is carried out at Inforestudante.

[20] This deadline may be extended until 31/10/2024, whenever the Organisational Unit does not have the possibility of carrying out the defences until 30/09/2024, and this information must be communicated to the Academic Management Services (SGA).
