Through the General Library of the University of Coimbra (BGUC) page and the FLUC Documentation and Libraries Services, it is possible to have open access to not only a substantial amount of journals, but also volumes and other data.
To access these services, you must do it:
- locally (via IP connection from FLUC or the BGUC);
- remotely (via VPN): https://www.uc.pt/sibuc/PesquisaGeral/acessoremoto
The following links allow you to get familiarised with the offers of both library services:
BGUC: https://www.uc.pt/sibuc/PesquisaGeral/BasesDados
FLUC: https://www.uc.pt/fluc/biblioteca/bases/
We also highlight our access to the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) e-book collection, edited by the Cambridge University Press, which was acquired in a joint effort by four UC faculties: FPCE, FDUC, FEUC, and FLUC. The faculty administrations and their Libraries make it possible to access the whole throughout 2021. The "Classical Studies" category of this collection is available here.
We also have some books from the De Gruyter publisher at hand, including volumes such as Deipnosophistae. Volumen III A: Libri VIII-XI. B: Epitome ("Bibliotheca scriptorum Graecorum et Romanorum Teubneriana" series), available here.
In order to encourage interest and the usage of these research tools, we held an exhibition of these collections, highlighting some of the "treasures" that are a click away. We sought examples that would cover CECH's various fields of study.
