Abstract submission

Call for abstracts

Deadline for abstract submission extended! You can submit your abstract until February 22th

The deadline for submission is February 22th 2013. Participants interested in presenting either an oral paper or a poster are invited to submit an abstract.

Guidelines

Abstracts must be submitted in English, the official language of the symposium, using the online system. Once you have submitted your abstract, a formal confirmation by e-mail will be sent.  For any further information related to abstract submission please, contact with the Secretariat by e-mail. Please, if you don't receive any confirmation, send an e-mail to IVCHB2013@uc.pt or to jorgecan@ci.uc.pt

The content of the abstracts will be the basis for acceptance of the paper presentation at the symposium. The members of the Scientific Committee will review the abstracts and authors will be informed about the acceptance of their abstract by the end of February.

The authors must indicate which form of presentation they prefer: oral or poster. The final decision on type of presentation will be decided by the scientific committee, with consideration given to the author’s preference.

Oral abstract presentations will dispose of 12 minutes time plus 3 minutes for discussion.

Abstracts must prepared according to the format presented here.

Please note it is mandatory one registration per each two abstracts submitted. An e-mail address is compulsory in order to receive information about your submission. Submission of an abstract acknowledges your acceptance for the abstract to be published in the official meeting publication.

Based on their quality, a number of abstracts from young researchers will be selected by the Scientific Committee to be awarded.

Symposium topics

The symposium will cover the following topics:

  1. Cellular and molecular aspects of totipotency
  2. Micropropagation, rooting and acclimatization
  3. Cryopreservation and other conservation approaches
  4. Plant tissue culture and secondary metabolite production
  5. Somatic embryogenesis
  6. Haploids and plant breeding
  7. Genetic transformation and molecular breeding
  8. In vitro plants: from the bench to the market
  9. New tools to understand in vitro morphogenesis

Both organising and scientific committees reserve the right to amend the list as necessary. Please, when submitting your abstract choose one of these topics. If none of these is related with your abstract please select “other”.

Paper submission to Acta Horticulturae

Posters and oral presentations can be submitted as a full paper to Acta Horticulturae (http://www.actahort.org/). Manuscripts must be prepared according to the instructions available at http://www.ishs.org/wri/pap1.htm and send to the to the symposium convener (jorgecan@ci.uc.pt) no later than 31th July.
