Dulce Lopes and Fernando Borges were invited to participate in the event “Research on Gender Equality and Intersectionality: Networking for Strengthened Societal and Policy Impact,” on 29 and 30 September, at the European Commission in Brussels. This was the first networking meeting dedicated to the theme “Research on Gender Equality and Intersectionality,” organized in collaboration by the Gender Sector of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (RTD) and the Inclusive Society Unit of the Research Executive Agency (REA). Representatives from 40 European projects (Horizon Europe; Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values program, among others), as well as members of the European Research Area subgroup “Inclusive gender equality” and the winners of the “EU Award for Gender Equality Champions” were invited to participate in discussions on the latest advances and challenges in gender equality and intersectionality. The event programme included networking opportunities, collaboration, workshops, and updates on European policies relevant to the sector.
