Synopsis: A multiobjective routing model for Multiprotocol Label Switching networks with multiple service types and path protection is studied. The routing problem is formulated in a network-wide optimization sense. The considered objectives in the biobjective integer program are the minimization of the bandwidth routing cost and the minimization of the load cost in the network links. A link-path formulation is proposed for the problem and an exact method (in this context) is applied for solving the formulated problem. An extensive experimental study, with results on network performance measures in various randomly generated networks, is performed.
*The original title of the project was "Multiobjective routing in MPLS networks with traffic splitting and multiple services", but a redefinition of the goal of the project led to a redefinition of the title.
