A path in higher education seeking to successfully cross the finish line in cycling and biomedical pharmacy

Sofia Gomes began her path at the University in Coimbra in the academic year 2021/2022 as a student at the Faculty of Pharmacy, but her journey has countless kilometres in another area: cycling. The connection to this sport started as a hobby, but today it is a vital part of her life. At this moment the student divides her life between cycling and her bachelor's degree in Biomedical Pharmacy. With daily trainings, it has been a challenge to find the right balance to reach the goals she set for both areas. However, Sofia has managed to find that balance with her dedication, with the strong bonds she has created with her opponents, learning how to handle stress, and also with the support of colleagues, teachers, and the High Performance Support Programme of the University of Coimbra.
