| The University of Coimbra supports the purchase of the building of the students’ Republica “Real República Boa-Bay-Ela”. The UC is committed to protecting the historical legacy of the "republicas", traditional students’ residences of Coimbra, recognising their importance in promoting culture and community and academic life. | |
| The new Faculty Board of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FLUC) has just taken office and aims to project the school as a "source of creativity, experimentation and production". Teaching, Research, Societal Challenges and Internationalization are the four pillars in focus for Albano Figueiredo's term of office as FLUC’s Dean. | |
| Climate challenges gather 12th grade students during “UC Open Week”. The initiative presents nine areas of knowledge and nine challenges for the 36 participants and 19 tutors. The initiative is addressed to national prospective students and takes place between the 19th and 30th of July. Participants were invited to think about the Sustainable Development Goals, attend soft skills training and visit the University, among other activities. |
| Scientists defend the inclusion of all fungi in global targets for biodiversity conservation. The letter defending the inclusion was published in the scientific journal "Science" and is led by Susana C. Gonçalves, researcher at the Centre for Functional Ecology of the University of Coimbra. | |

Institutions took place last Sunday at the Coimbra City Stadium. This typical
Coimbra academic tradition allows students to celebrate and show gratitude at
