| After a long process of preparation
and testing, everything is ready for the STRATOSPOLCA scientific experiment to go into space in the BEXUS 31 balloon of
the European Space Agency (ESA).
The project will be launched between the 27th of September and the 1st of
October from the Esrange Space Center, in Kiruna, northern Sweden. |
| European Researcher’s Night will take place on the 24th of September between 4 and 11p.m. in uptown
and downtown Coimbra. UC researchers will showcase their science in the most

| The digital exhibition Pet Microorganisms is a joint organization between the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, the Vasco da Gama University and “Ciência Viva”, marking the 5th edition of the International Microorganism Day (celebrated on the 17th September 2021).

study concludes that dental infections are harder to treat in patients with
diabetes. A study conducted by a team from the Institute of
Endodontics of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC)
shows that Diabetes hinders the healing process of maxillary bone infections
due to the changes in the development of new blood vessels and consequent
deficiency of blood irrigation. |  |
