| University of Coimbra gets groundbreaking licence to distribute gallium-68, an essential isotope for cancer diagnosis. Gallium-68 is an isotope used in Positron Emission Tomography (PET scans) for oncological diagnosis, namely in neuroendocrine tumours and prostate cancer. | |

| UC hosts the international Conference “(Acesso à) Justiça e Digitalização: desafios pós-pandemia” (Access to) Justice and Digitalization: post pandemic challenges”. The hybrid event will take place on the 4th October from 2 to 4:30pm at the Senate Room and online (UC youtube channel). | |
| Applications are now open for the Santander UC Student-Athlete Scholarships. The programme aims to support student athletes enrolled in the UC who have achieved merit results. Applications will be accepted until the 24th of October. |
| On the 2nd October at 10.30am the Geophysical and Astronomical Observatory of the University of Coimbra will host the event "Discovering the Observatory". The initiative includes a brief guided tour of the museum collection, the spectro-heliograph and also the planetarium session "Farewell to the Summer constellations". Due to the limited number of seats, previous registration is required. |
