| Queima das Fitas is back to Coimbra. The biggest students’ Festival in Portugal starts today with the traditional Serenade at Largo da Sé Nova and takes place until the 29th October. During 8 days and nights, Coimbra Higher Education students celebrate a priceless academic tradition, which was put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic. | |
| The Gilead GÉNESE Programme distinguished a research project of the University of Coimbra. The work, led by a researcher of the Faculty of Pharmacy, aims to test an intranasal vaccine against COVID-19. | |
| "Académica Start UC” distinguished Ambassadors of the Year after a record number of participants. “Académica Start UC" is a pilot project created by the University of Coimbra and Associação Académica de Coimbra to raise awareness, educate and prepare UC students for innovation and entrepreneurship. | |
| UC announces rehabilitation works on the headquarters building of the Academic Association of Coimbra (Students' Union). The work will take place between May and October 2022 and involves an investment of 200,000 euros. | |
| Renovation work in the Schools Patio aims to safeguard the future. The Wing of São Pedro and the Royal Palace are two of the spaces that are being requalified. The intervention is co-financed by the European Union's European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Centre Regional Operational Programme (CENTRO 2020). | |
| Coimbra University Games are back! This new edition aims to be wider and with more participants. The main objective of the Games is to promote sport and physical activity in the university community. The event involves competition in five distinct leagues (each aimed at a specific sector of the UC community). |
