with new activities related to sustainability and research. Between the 24th
and the 29th of July, more than 400 high school students will be in Coimbra to

deafness in the human species. A study of the remains of the hearing structure of a fossil discovered
almost half a century ago in Morocco, allowed to discover one of the oldest
cases of deafness in our species, Homo
Sapiens. The results have been published in the International Journal of Paleopathology. |  |

million euros to study disease risk associated with the degradation of urban
riverine ecosystems. A team from the University of Coimbra (UC) leads a consortium that has
just been granted funding of five million euros from the European programme
"Horizon Europe", to study the relationship between human health and
the health of aquatic ecosystems in urban contexts. |
| New Bachelor Degree in Management of Sustainable and
Intelligent Cities at the University of Coimbra.The new course will be taught at the Department of
Civil Engineering and was created from scratch, in a multidisciplinary approach
involving the areas of engineering, architecture and social sciences, also
focusing on digital technologies. |  |
