 | A "more united Academy" welcomed the new school year. The Solemn Opening of the new academic year featured the speeches of the UC Rector, Amílcar Falcão and of the President of the Board of AAC (Student’s Union). The Sapientia lecture was delivered by Duarte Nuno Vieira, from the Faculty of Medicine of the UC. |
| The University of Coimbra participates in the development of an innovative disinfection closet. The NovirBox is a disinfection closet that uses ultrasonic nebulisation of Inokem's VIRCOV BAC 360 disinfectant to sterilise textiles, clothing and footwear. |  |
 | The Seminar "International Day of the Girl Child: The role of Academia in Health, Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Human Rights" takes place on October 7, at 09:30 am, at the Amphitheatre of the Chemistry Laboratory of the UC (presented in Portuguese and livestreamed here. Registrations for in-person attendance here. The International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated on the 11th October. |

 | Innovation@UC puts innovation back on the agenda. On the 9th of November, “Convento de São Francisco” will host the 2nd edition of the event promoted by the Innovation, Service and Community Relations Commission of the General Council of the UC. Registration is open until the 26th of October. |
