Congratulations to the University of Coimbra!
After about 9 months under restoration works, St. Michael’s Chapel of the University of Coimbra reopens today. Watch the news story with some of the singularities of the intervention (contents in Portuguese).
Today we also celebrate at the College of Jesus (contents in Portuguese). Among other activities, it will be possible to see the Royal parchment of King John III that authorised the construction of this space.
There is another novelty: starting today, we can now visit the Gallery of Natural History and the Cabinet of Physics of the Museum of Science of the University of Coimbra everyday.
The celebration goes on throughout the evening with the opening show of the 18th Cultural Week of the UC: A Festa (da insignificância), by the Contemporary Dance Company Paulo Ribeiro, in a close dialogue with the work of Milan Kundera, at the Gil Vicente Theatre Hall, at 21h30. This is the start of probably the longest week in the world – the program lasts until the 1st of May.
It’s UC’s birthday and there are gifts for you: you may now download the App of the University of Coimbra (UCoimbra), which allows you to access Inforestudante, Infordocente and Inforgestão (android and ios).
The European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes has granted a funding of EUR100,000 to a group of researchers of the Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra, for the study of chronic wounds.
Happy Birthday also to the Radio of the University of Coimbra (RUC), which celebrates its 30th Anniversary!
