The Institute of Nuclear Sciences Applied to Health of the UC (ICNAS) is testing a new method to assess cardiovascular risk. The pilot study shows that the sodium fluoride radiopharmaceutical labeled with fluorine-18 used for detection of skeletal metastases, appears to be effective in early detection of cardiovascular disease.

The competition of ideas and business plans Arrisca C is back and brings news: an award aimed at social initiatives, new partners and even more appealing prizes. If you are willing to take the risk, applications are open until July 15.
 
António Martins, of the Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra, has just been awarded the 2016 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence. The paper "The Portuguese corporate tax reform and international trends: an assessment", published in the International Journal of Law and Management, received the distinction of "Outstanding Paper".

Summer is coming and with it comes also the SASUC ATL summer. During the month of August, children between 8 and 10 years old can participate in several recreational and educational activities. Registrations are limited and are open until June 17th.

There's still time to participate in the "International Forum on Healthy Nightlife" taking place until May 6 at the CHUC. The event hosts a number of plenary sessions, debates and workshops to analyse problems associated with recreational ´contexts and nightlife in the cities.
