| Two research teams of the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra have discovered that the progression of the Machado-Joseph disease can be prevented through a controlled reduction of calories intake or through the use of the substance resveratrol, which is ready to be tested in clinical trials. |
| President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will be at the University of Coimbra to attend the inauguration of Subunit 3 of the Faculty of Medicine on Monday, May 16, at 4 pm. On that same day, the President will chair the closing ceremony of the 4th "Ageing" Congress. |
