Coimbra Solidarity Concert is almost here. The show will take place on the 11th March at TAGV, premiering António Ataíde e os Impuros. The concert’s revenue will revert this year to the construction of the first Ecumenical Temple in the country.
Also on the 11th of March we will celebrate Francophonie. The Noite dos Francóvorosorganized by Alliance Française, arrives at Coimbra for the first time with a program which invites us to stay up all night, including cinema, music and gastronomy.
The impact of the classification of the University of Coimbra (UC) as UNESCO World heritage will be under debate on the 22nd of March: The Centre for Social Studies (CES) will be hosting the session “University of Coimbra, UNESCO World Heritage: which impact beyond the University?” This is the first session of the series of Talks “Dialogues and perspectives on the Urban: Different Looks”, taking place between March 2016 and July 2017.
Are you a student looking for an internship abroad? We have two suggestions:  AIESEC proposes a Youth volunteering internship programme in the areas of education, health and social entrepreneurship, and the PAPSummer2016 (Portuguese American Post-Graduate Society)brings Portuguese students the possibility of travelling to the US and complete a one-month internship in companies, research centres and top universities including Harvard Medical School, Space Telescope Science Institute and NASA.
Project Relobie (Reusable Learning Objects in Education) invites all students and faculty  of the University of Coimbra to participate in their study through the completion of a survey. Relobie aims at contributing for an improvement in Higher Education through the development of teachers' skills in the use of video.
Easter break is almost here and the UC Tourism challenges the little ones: to participate in a “Book hunt” at the Palace of Schools. The activity, taking place between the 21st and the 24th March, is aimed at children of the UC community, who will be challenged to go through several spaces, following clues to find "The Book kept by the King". Registrations can be made using the email address reservas@uc.pt
Did you know that a UC research team discovered the origin of blood stem cells? The team from CNC (Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra), discovered the precursor cells  that originate blood stem cells during the embryonic development, and how they can originate all blood cell types.
