| The University of Coimbra is for the first time in the top 500 of CWUR - World University Rankings. The UC moved up 26 positions since last year and is now among the elite of the 2% top-ranked universities worldwide. |
| A team of Portuguese and American researchers coordinated by the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the UC has developed a new security layer for wireless networks: the SWING technology (Securing Wireless Networks with Coding and Jamming). |
| José Xavier, researcher at the University of Coimbra, is part of the polar scientists international team who has identified new areas of urgent intervention in Antarctica. |
| The Faculty of Economics of the UC has created the merit awards “FEUC Exemplar”, which will be awarded every year to the best Bachelor and Master's degrees students. |
| The applications deadline to Arrisca C has been extended until the 30th September. Applications may be indivual or in teams of up to 5 elements, wherein at least one of the promoters is a student or a recent graduate from any higher education institution in the country. The contest has two typologies available: Ideas and Business Plans. |
| The pedagogical survey about the 2nd semester to be completed by students is on until the 21st July. The survey is anonymous and available through Inforestudante. It aims to help identify strengths and weaknesses and is essential for the continuous improvement of each cycle of study at the UC. Your opinion counts! |
Here are some suggestions for the weekend. The exhibition celebrating the 500 years of the beatification of Rainha Santa Isabel (Saint Elizabeth) takes place in two different places: Saint Elizabeth at the Royal Palace and Saint Elizabeth at the Royal Monastery. Don't miss the opening of the Arts Festival on Sunday. Until the 31st July there will be Music, exhibitions, lectures and a lot more in Coimbra. |
