| A research team coordinated by the Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra has found that damage to cells' recycling are associated with the Machado-Joseph disease. Luis Pereira de Almeida, coordinator of the study, explains that "the results suggest that fibroblasts are affordable ways to test drugs for the disease, speeding up the transition from research to the clinic." Tomorrow evening science is back to Coimbra for another edition of the European Researchers' Night. Several entities have prepared numerpis activities aimed at bringing together the general public and scientists in an informal, entertaining and educational interaction. The project Cria'ctividade, together with other entities, offers an evening full of music, performances and tours. The applications deadline to the first phase of the Arrisca C contest (ideas and business plans) has been extended until 30 October. On 1 October, from 10 am to 8 pm, the Garagem de Santa Cruz will host "The Product Garage Party" a party where six technological products will be presented simultaneously. Free entrance. |
